Please advise whether you have any specific guidance identifying what type of door fits the fire door requirements.
We will need to inspect several front doors on flats we manage as these would constitute "The Fire Door", so we will need to know exactly what we should look for in assessing them.
I believe the minimum requirement is that a fire door should be able to provide a minimum of 30 minutes of protection, but how can we tell whether this is the case?
The government instructions on how to check a self-closer working are straightforward enough. Still, the guidance on intumescent strips and cold smoke seals only states that they have to be in good order "where provided", so does this mean there is no requirement to have them retrofitted to a door for the door to be compliant?
Also, regarding the fire safety instructions that have to be issued to occupiers, we intend to provide them annually to the relevant occupiers and make them an inclusion within our tenancy agreements so that all of our tenants get them regardless of the type of property they are renting.
Given the cost of printing, please advise whether the copies included within the AST would need to be provided to the tenants as full-colour documents or whether these could be printed in grey scale.
